Our in-house carpet departments grew further in major trading centers and by the end of 2003 Carpetright worked from 38 stores spread across the UK. The departments accounted for an average of 488 square metres of floor space.
Caretright provided a wide range of carpet, laminate and vinyl, with a strong emphasis on service. This launch made it possible for Carpetright to play a significant part in a new market segment, which previously has not been served by the branches outside the cities.
In May 2004, Carpetright Benelux reported a profit of €2,000,000. It was the first time the European branche reached this number.
In 2005 Carpetright announced to build on the success of European activities and for the first time, opened branches in Poland.
In the summer of 2005, Carpetright acquired the shop ‘Mays World of Carpets’, an established successful family business with three stores located in Abingdon, Swindon and Cheltenham. The Group made Mays a separate brand with more focus on wholesale. The brand now has 11 offices throughout the country and recently launched its own Trade Card.
