In September 2005 the company celebrated the opening of its 500th store in Cork, Ireland. Suppliers and colleagues were brought together to celebrate this special occasion.
In January 2006 the company announced its collaboration with House of Fraser deparment stores to provice carpet departments in 19 retail outlets of the company. The first one opened in April 2006.
At the end of 2007 the presence in continental Europe increased by a growing number of locations. In July 2008 Carpetright Europe reached an agreement for the purchase of the Dutch retailer Ben de Graaff. The acquisition brought the total number of stores to 28 in Belgium and 88 in the Netherlands.
The bed retailer Sleepright was acquiered by the Carpetright group in December 2008 and we now sell beds in approximately 200 locations within the existing Carpetright stores in the UK and Ireland.
Carpetright starts selling online! In September 2009 we embraced online selling for the UK market and developed an award winning fully transactional website which allows consumers to complete whole transactions online, including ordering samples, requesting home consultations and booking fitting services.
